Amid our fraying social fabric, the call to reclaim agency has never been more pressing—or more urgent. Like it or not, if the systems around us are failing—and all evidence suggests they are—the responsibility for shaping our futures now rests squarely on our shoulders.
Most of us don’t appreciate this—we don’t even think about it. But agency means acting with intention—shaping our circumstances rather than letting them shape us. Deciding on what we want to be rather than meekly accepting whatever identity our modern consumer culture throws at us.
